About

Douglas Abuelo has worked as a freelance photographer for the past 10 years. In 1999 he along with three other photographers founded the photo-collective Agentur Spot. In 2003 Douglas was awarded the German National Prize in the EU-sponsored Human Work photo competition and in 2007 an Association of Denominational Press Research Grant together with Journalist Mirco Lomoth. His photos have been published by Der Spiegel, Time, Die Welt, The Guardian Online, Geo Online, Le Monde, Newsweek, Neon, and The New York Times, among others. From 2004 to 2007 he was a contributor to Sipa Press. Since 2007 he has been represented by Polaris Images.
